St. Ignatius Fellowship Football Tournament @ 6th Oct'24

It was a great pleasure for our Ex-Students Association to host the St. Ignatius Fellowship Football Tournament on 6th Oct'24.

We truly enjoyed hosting the event and hope you had an equally fantastic time playing some splendid football.

The Intention: To bring together on one platform the various communities of Holy Family viz: the school, the junior college, PTA, Teachers and faculty, Parish youth, Snehasdan, Vinayalaya priests and noviciates, and of course the Ex-Students. Expectation is to bring a synergy among the various communities leading to network effectively within all the groups at Holy Family, doing work for the greater good.

The Invitees: The following groups for their participation:

  • Holy Family School (10th Std.) students

  • Holy Family Junior College (11th or 12th Std.) students

  • Holy Family School and college teaching and non-teaching staff

  • Holy Family Parents' and Teachers' Association

  • Holy Family Parish Committee and Sub-committees

  • Vinayala Jesuits and Deacons

  • Snehasadan students and ex-students

  • Holy Family Ex-Students

In the spirit of fellowship, all players from all the groups are randomly mixed into teams of 7 + 4 (so clearly, it's not a competition among the groups), and play the tournament in a league format.

It was a fiercely contested tournament between 6 teams, with the Thunder Strikers emerging victorious, defeating the highly competitive Raging Rhinos 1-0 in the final.

The Game Changers claimed 3rd place in an intense penalty shoot-out against the Blazing Tornadoes.

Although The Dominators and Net Busters didn’t make it to the knockout stages, they certainly provided plenty of excitement during the league rounds.

During the snack break, we were honored to have our current principal, Fr. Andrew, join us and deliver an insightful and motivational speech on the teachings of St. Ignatius and the importance of spreading kindness.

One of the most memorable moments was seeing our senior ex-student players interacting with and mentoring younger players from school, junior college, and Snehasadan, sharing both football tips and life advice.

All in all, it was a Sunday well spent with a fantastic football tournament and wonderful networking.

We take this opportunity to thank the school management, Admin & Sports staff in assisting with the facilities.
